^I wouldn't say best movie ever, but it does seem to be fairly underrated. In fact, I think I might have to dig out the DVD and give it a watch. It might need a bit of dusting off though.
i cry and feel immersed in it every time, defintely a fave.

p.s. glad to see you back ea1475, i missed your pov's in here.

I think it's a charming, entertaining, light hearted film.

It certainly isn't a film of my generation's youth, though I still found it enjoyable when I watched it for the first time about 6 years ago (when I was 14).

I love the scene where the hypochondriac friend is lying in his darkened bedroom and says whilst staring at the ceiling without blinking, "I'm dying".

I find myself quoting from that scene when I hurt myself or feel like shit for no reason.

Absolutely love it.

I don't attach a lot of significance to it culturally (mostly because it's before my time), but it's somewhat like Saved by the Bell in that it really colored my perception of teenage life before I was close enough to have any first-hand experience.

i love high school scenes from 80s movies...nostalgic, i dunno maybe u had to of' been there' at the time and i went to high school at the same school "fast times at ridgemont high was filmed ( van nuys (818)

im glad to see some other 5 star ratings...

I watched this for the first time with my best friend, who told me in so many words that I was the Cameron to his Ferris--a comparison that I later realized was wholly correct. That said, I gave it four stars for its nostalgic quality than for any intrinsic value.

^What, no Weird Science? pffft

*Shakes head*

1. The Breakfast Club
2. Weird Science
3. Pretty In Pink
4. Sixteen Candles
5. Some Kind Of Wonderful

I never saw it. Yes, I'm a loser!:p

OMG, shame on you. :|

That's on my top ten list of films that I milked to death as a kid.

My favourite scene

Kelly Lebrocks finest moment. %)

I love this movie. It's alot better than the breakfast club becuase I get alot of luaghs put of it and it captures it's generation perfectly.

Simone: Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Economics Teacher: Thank you, Simone

Simone: No problem whatsoever.

Boy in Police Station: Drugs?
Jeannie: Thank you, no. I'm straight.
Boy in Police Station: I meant, are you in here for drugs?
Jeannie: Why are you here?
Boy in Police Station: Drugs.

OKAY LAST QUOTE FROM ME i could go for dayz....

Ferris: I do have a test today. that wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who cares if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists. It still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.

goodbye
