Dunno...didn't care for any of the characters, and it was too stylistically similar to the (better) A History of Violence.

Yeh, this movie was mediocre. It almost disturbs me that so many people love it. I gues there was a kind of HINT of a potentially good movie with a cool vibe, but it never even came halfway of reaching it. it was like "david lynch does the russian mob! now in theatres" like that fucking Hancock will smith movie, "let's do will smith- as a bum - who can fly!"

liol, my first comment here is stupid, but i still maintain it portrayed russians from a very anglocentric point of view.
it seems to my cronenberg is a very visuals-oriented filmmaker. he doesnt seem t care about much besides the surface sheen...
