Film: Dodgeball
*sigh*
I'm glad I only paid .50 to see this, because I thought it sucked. I won't lie, I sometimes refer to metacritic.com to give me an idea of how good a movie will be, and Dodgeball earned a 52 (which is a decent score there), so I went to see it based off a score a stupid website gave it. Plus, rottentomatoes.com gave it a 69 - which IS a good score by their standards.
The movie is full of all sorts of lowbrow, potty humor, very innapropriate for only a PG-13 rating. There were a handful of scenes that made me crack a smile, but overall it was redundant and not funny. The cast of characters were just thrown into the movie with no build up of character.
There was one guy, a member of Vince Vaughn's gym, who lived life as a fuckin pirate. Nobody knows why he does this, he just wears pirate clothes, talks like a pirate, acts like a pirate, etc. Ben Stiller does a pretty god job of playing his role as a pompous, self-righteous jock that is at times funny and other times leaves you thinking "I swear I've seen that schtick before...?"
