Has anyone else seen this yet. I saw it a few days ago and was mightily impressed. After seeing the trailer I knew that I wanted to see it and was expecting quite a lot. Audrey Tautou of Amelie fame is the female lead and does a superb job. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays the main character, a Nigerian doctor illegally in the UK and also is superb.

Everything about this movie appealed to me. It was visually stunning and I loved the performances of pretty much everyone.

Its showing here in the more independent style of cinemas, so search it out if you can. Definitely a good view :)

CB :)

agreed. tautou does a great job in her first english language performance and it proves she can act rather than just look cute and charming (as required in amelie).

it continues stephen frears tradition of making good, often poignant, commentary on britain's sociopolitical climate.. but it never gets heavy handed. it's manages to be a compelling thriller with a lot of humour and a little romance, all of which is handled very well.

i just saw it, and am now in the process of typing up my review. in short, i enjoyed it, but thought it could have been *much* better (the one-dimensional characters got on my nerves somewhat).

i'll be back :)

I finally got to seeing this film. Slow, but powerful. It shows a side of England only usually seen in the United States. I really don't think anyone will come to even remotely understanding the drift here if they haven't been in the same position.
