Dan Burns is a single father who dedicates his life to his children, but one day he meets Marie at a bookstore. They get to know each other, but then Dan finds out that Marie is actually dating his brother, Mitch Burns.

First hour is piss poor, was tempted to turn it off several times, picks up a bit after that when

maria becomes jealous

All in all, pretty dire. Was expecting it to be a bit funnier with steve carrel/dane cook.

2/5

i haven't seen this yet souny, but no way in hell this is worse than evan almighty

Terrible movie. I wished I had the time back I spent watching this film. I thought it was supposed to be a comedy, but it was not funny at all. Is Steve Carrell losing his gusto?

It was pretty damn bad, but I watched it in theaters with my mom so I had a decent time. I gave it a very generous 2 stars.

For sure. Carrel's character was hardly watchable and I'm surprised someone didn't murder Cook after the initial release. As if we didn't hate Dane Cook enough...

supposed to be funny? i didn't think the previews showed that. it looked like a drama from what i saw. i was looking forward to it, but not after this thread :( i love carrel.

and like everyone else, i loathe cook.

It is - I didn't particularly like Evan Almighty but it was funny at times and I didn't feel like turning it off at any point.

I had to force myself not to turn this off (so I could give it a fair review in case the end was good)

Oh darn this interested me in the previews I saw, and I do like Carrol.

Oh well.

i saw this on a plane. in flight movie. still sucked. in fact it stunk more than service by u.s. airways does... and that says a lot.

i saw this a few hours ago with the hubby and we both really liked it.

i am not sure what people are expecting, or what the criticism really is based on, but it is a simple romance based around shitty circumstances, done quietly witty and well. i thought it was lovely. even the hubs liked it and this is a murder death kill action type movie loving guy.

not really sure how to put this... but i cringe so much for him in this film. carroll is so good at making you really feel his anxiety.

i actually turned this off about half way through, which is highly unusual for me. :\

i usually like his stuff, but the storyline was too annoying and he was too whiny.
