Ewan mc Gregor is such a good actor...he can do the southern accent so well considering he's freakin IRISH .
HAHAHAHA.... no he's not, he's Scottish! :D

\scottish

EDIT: P.S. Great film by the way!

^^^ooops!!! my bad.... =D

Ewan McGregor (born 31 March 1971 in Crieff, Perthshire to James McGregor and Carol Lawson) is a Scottish film actor who has had significant success in both mainstream and "art house" movies. McGregor attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

I gave it three stars. It's a little too sentimental for my tastes, but it's stylishly done. I also found the main character's development at the end a little unrealistic (hope that wasn't a spoiler).

i just saw it this weekend and loved it! i definitely shed a tear or two at the end. beautiful.

Overrated pap.

There were parts of it I loved, but in my view it was a VERY flawed movie because:

(1) The Dad's character, in my opinion, even when all was said and done, wasn't a very likeable human being.

And when a movie's strongest suit is that it's extremely sentimental, that's a death blow.

(2) McGregor's acting was horrendous.

(3) The story, while entertaining, started to drag big-time.

I would have added two-tenths of a star had it ended twenty minutes earlier.

Worth watching exactly once, in my opinion.

RATING: 3.1 stars, on the LL-O-Meter.

I adored this movie, an easy favorite. I loved how light-hearted it could be, yet it was still really deep in some parts. The ending was amazing.

Really enjoyed this film. Flows along nicely and makes a great change to the special effect crammed, shoot em up overhyped blockbusters.
Very touching and worthy of dvd shelf space.

A lot of people I have spoken with disregard this movie as being too cheesy and sentimental, but I found it quite moving. A good mix of Tim Burton's dark imagination and effects and fondness of family values, used to tell a thoroughly entertaining if not uncannily personal story. I guess it's one of those Cat's in the Cradle type mindsets, y aknow?
