Bad boy bubby - love it or hate it?

I was a huge fan of the scene 3/4 the way through the movie where bubby's caught in the church with the band member and they're talking about religion.

For an Ausssie movie thats not so recent, youll either love it or hate it.
I thought it was good.
If youre not a big fan of slow beginnings though, pull a few bongs at the beginning.

It's definitely worth a watch for an Aussie flick!

I saw it aaaages ago so I hardly remember it. But I do remember being quite disturbed and feeling like I needed a shower afterwards.

"You've got great tits, Flo" *shudder*.... ooooh and the death by Clingwrap.... :\

I'm not sure if it's great or just plain sick.

yeah this was quite brilliant. social commentaries are pretty much what i consider to be the real meat of filmmaking, so it stands to reason that i would love this and, well, i do.

nick hope is perfectly over-the top, and i think the best thing about it is that - slm you hit the nail on the head - it is sick. but i don't think 'sick' and 'great' are mutually exclusive; i think the very fact that rolf de heer sees the line but then chooses to jump right over it anyway (turning to give us the finger on the way past) is exactly what makes this so great. he puts a mirror up to society and what we see when we look into it is disgusting.

I loved this film. I'm too stoned to go into the details, but I thought I'd give it a bump so it doesn't get deleted. I'll discuss my views on it in depth later.

some nice lines in this disturbing classic.

get off the fuckin road, ya fuckin greenie bastard!

A very disturbing and difficult to watch film in parts but great none the less. Quite shocking and quite lovely too. :)

nicholas hope wrote a book about his experiences touring with this film on the festival circuit - 'Brushing the Tip of Fame'. it's definitely worth a read

Call me sick, but i love movies like this... so yeah, loved this movie. I introduced my fiance to it a year ago, he enjoyed it also and still laughs about it, but he thinks i am sick haha.

Thanks for posting about this film. I'm in the U.S. where it never saw wide release and didn't know anything about it until reading this thread. I just managed to rent it tonight, and the only copy at the store (which houses an large esoteric collection) was also up for sale. Unforgettable.
