Hi,

Folley told me that after heavy X abuse you need 3 months off in order to feel the magic again. However my friend tells me he abused it hard and quitted 2 years used again and he didnt had the magic. Should i be affraid i wont roll anymore? ( Rolled 10-20 times in 2/3 months ) and also i would like to know why everyone sees glasses on people and seeing the lights become awesome ( as in the lights drag out ) i never had this. I only had that i thought my friend was calling my name and i was like yo sup and hes like dude i said nothing.... and i saw the lights a litttleeeeee bit dragging out once. I know its a bit messy but i would hope someone could give me some answer.

Much appreciated,

Vision.

There's really no set time for anyone gains the "magic" back. It all depends on your use patterns, length of the habit, how much time you take off, your diet, your biochemistry, etc. Some people maybe able to recover quickly, others might not. What I can tell you is that doing MDMA 20 times a month isn't doing you any favors if you want your tolerance back.

After that kind of abuse, some people have long-term tolerance problems and some don't. For best results, you'll just have to wait as long as possible before using serotonin-releasing drugs again. It may indeed take longer than three months.

To be fair I said the longer the break the better it would be, but that three months was probably the minimum you should be taking off. After I abused MDMA for 8 months straight, I had to take an 8 month break to even consider rolling again, and another 5 months after that before things were really back to normal

and for the other question, the hallucinations are said to be from MDMA metabolizing to MDA.. check the MDMA hallucination thread for more info on that :)

I find that the best way to regain the magic is to use MDMA about 3 times a week for the following few months, and then on the days you are not rolling, smoke some crack to really get your tolerance down!

(NOTE - I am joking. For the love of Christ don't do this. I have had many beers and whilst this seems funny now, I'm sure once I wake up and realise that I have been made Folley's bitch and am being hit with the ban hammer, it will probably lose its humor!)

The 'magic' is subjective. My personal opinion is that the magic comes from the right set & setting and not the drug itself. That's not to say that the MDMA experience won't change the more you do it. It's certainly changed for me but the magic is definitely there when the setting is just right.

About hallucinations, I'm not convinced that they result from the metabolized MDA. Under 10% (Approx 7-8% I think) of MDMA appears to metabolize into MDA which would mean you'd need to take a ridiculous amount of MDMA to reach a psychoactive dose of MDA. I'd guess towards 750mg - 1 gram following approximately 7-10% conversion. It's probably more realistic that MDMA causes hallucinations through a similar mechanism to LSD & Psilocybin, which are thought to act & mimic serotonin causing hallucinations. How this happens I don't know, the direct mechanism of LSD on serotonin is unclear.

Your friend probably didn't get MDMA
There's alot of similar chemicals which give you the majority of the effects of MDMA, but none of them have the magic of MDMA.
They all lack the complete warmth and empathy and feeling that everything is gonna be ok
