First of all from what I typed I never said they weren't his, those are just killer tracks, e.g. gems. I simply labeled them correctly, if he uses a different name its a different name.

Also, go to djmag.com, look at their list of top 100 djs. The people at the top of the list mostly play trance. He was top 5 at one point or another. *shrugs*

Fair enough man but that DJmag chart is more or less a comercial chart. The top ten doesnt stray too far away from trance so i dont think its fair. Purely from a musical and skill point of view he wouldnt get a sniff of the top 5.

I saw him rinse gatecrasher a couple of years back. Banging out some proper driving euphoric trance, just what you want if you go to gatecrasher really?

Insigma - Open Your Eyes? Strings? Beautiful? Yes please.

Aaaaah, an old schooler.. Insigma - Open your eyes, such a great fucking track. Believe Tiesto used that on his Magik 7 Los Angeles cd. (I was at the event when he recorded it!) Those were the days.

That's part of the reason people dislike tiesto sometimes

I'm no Tiesto fan but he's the biggest Trance DJ on the planet so I'd say more people like him than any other Trance DJ.

Ferry Corsten - Punk (or is it Digital Punk?). Can't remember but it's a tune.

+1

DJmag chart is a load of tripe!

Still love Ferry for his DJ sets and his production work. He's also a top bloke :)

The best set I have of his is live @ Aria, Montréal from 2005.

Best set I have seen/heard live would be either August 1st 2004 @ Judgement Sunday (Eden, Ibiza) or the Right of Way concert at HMH in Amsterdam 2003. Too many to choose from though! :)

All djs play a lot of other peoples' songs. In fact, it's considered egotistical and generally makes a show worse when you only play your productions. That's part of the reason people dislike tiesto sometimes. A good set will consist almost exclusively of other peoples' songs, that is, unless, you are a dj who has amazing productions and can fill up a whole set with your own stuff; however, not many people can do this, probably none can.

You've obviously never heard a good live psytrance act then.

Ferry sometimes gets asked to play producers' sets where he will just play tunes that he has created, or had a hand in creating. The set he played at Global Gathering 2004 was a producers set and rocked, apparently. :)

...but yes, it is usually considered bad form to just play your own tracks, IMO.
