Sorry for another thread so soon... I hope I don't get in trouble for that :| but I've tried looking for threads about overdosing on fent, particularly from smoking it, and I haven't found much except scary stories of people oding or knowing people who have died from it.

So for my question, is the overdose usually instant when you smoke too much or can it creep up on you even after the high has worn off or after a couple hours?
Also, what are symptoms of overdose of this drug?

A friend got me to try some a few hours ago and now I'm freaked out!
I knew it was dangerous but I didn't realize quite how much. Im never touching this ish again.

there is a lot of info regarding fentanyl on bl, heaps of threads covering heaps of topics.

use the search engine which in the top right of you page.

good luck and play safe brother/sister

To answer your question, both are possible. I've seen people OD ( non fatal ) from taking a bigger hit than they intended and going from standing to wobbly legs to out cold, drooling on the floor. I personally watched my best friend eat a 50 microgram patch and be decently or average high for two hours after eating then start to fall asleep, while driving.

I was in the passenger seat. I had him pull over into a parking lot and was consistently trying to keep him conscious He kept falling deeper and deeper into sleep. I proceeded to smack him, harder and harder until I couldn't slap any harder and he wasn't waking up, making noises I've never heard a person make before. At this point I went into shock and realized what I had to do.

Have you ever heard of a mother going into shock and being able to lift a car to get her child from under the car? Well, that's how I would explain what happened next. My friend weighed at least 200 - 250 lbs. At first it was hard but after a minute or so I was able to lift him into the passenger, put his seat belt on and drive to the hospital. It was only a ten minute drive which I made into a five minute drive.

When I pulled up to the hospital e.r. doors, I ran around to the other side and while opening the car door dropped my phone. Just an example of how much strength I was using that I wouldn't normally be able to use, as I was picking him up, myself, I stepped on my phone that I had dropped, completely crushing it..flat. I got him inside, waited half hr - an hr which felt like days.

I still had my stash on me as I wasn't even concerned with at the time and almost got caught with, as there was a police officer in the small room with me 90% of the time. He walked out for literally half a minute and I threw them in the trash.

Eventually the dr. came in and told me, his mom and sister ( which had been called in and showed up while I had been waiting ) that he had died, twice.. But they had revived him and put him into a coma. They said he had lost a lot of his brain cells but it was possible to bring him back and he would most likely have to re learn everything. We visited and waited everyday until the fourth day on life support. All of us ( family / friends ) were there and they removed the tube because he had been trying to take breaths of his own, the past couple days.

When your best friend or someone that close to you even has a 1% chance of surviving you are almost 99% sure they will make ( at least IME .) Probably needless to say he couldn't breathe on his own and his mom decided to pull the plug which became the worst day of my life.

Proceeding his death, began an investigation. They were trying to pin manslaughter on me. So my best friend has just passed and I'm being threatened with a ten yr sentence. Most stressful time of my life. I didn't get him the patch and I even told him not to take that much but anyone who knew my friend, knew that he was stubborn as a box of rocks and wouldn't listen to anyone for anything. So they had no right to pursue me ( I found this out after consulting a lawyer ) and eventually everything died down and things got some what better.

I think about him everyday and it's almost been three years now. I felt I should tell this story, I have never told it with this much detail.

I feel like everything happens for a reason and that if my experiences can help one person then there was a reason for what happened.

This isn't a story about how drugs are bad or how you shouldn't use fent., because I'm not a preachy type of person. More of a, take it as you will. I do hope you or anybody else will read this and take something from it.

Bawmit,
Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure it was painful for you to relive this, but you are right... If even 1 person reads this and is scared into not abusing this drug, it's worth it. I only wish there were a way to know how many lives may be saved thanks to your painfully honest reliving of the nightmare.
I also hope that it was therapeutic for you in some way, since you said you've never shared in this much detail before.
Thank you again.

a lot of the people who overdose on fentanyl don't live to post their experience. sometimes the deceased's loved ones will post something on their behalf if they knew about BL, but really man, it's serious shit and who knows how many victims of fentanyl OD go unreported like the tens of thousands of people who view this forum daily but do not have an account or they do but dont post much.

Go check out the Bluelight shrine before you go deciding to abuse fentanyl. Fuck that shit, it's killed people I loved very much. It's not worth it. done it myself, it's a stone-cold shitty ass experience. My goal in life isn't to sedate myself into unconsciousness on the regular. And smoking or even shooting fent lasts like what...... 15 minutes for the most intense part? I hate fentanyl abuse with every fiber of my being, and do my best to prevent people here on BL from abusing fentanyl for any reason whatsoever. We have to draw the line somewhere. It's even written about in the OD guidelines.

Most people here who make an account then post about how to abuse fent, over the past year I've noticed, most of them don't ever come back to post or even log on. If you know what's best for you, stay the fuck away.

Unlike most desirable abusable opioids, fentanyl is not at all warm and fuzzy. It's cold and scary. Fuck fuck fuck it. dont abuse it lightly, shit might take your life.

I watched people I loved very much overdose and die from fentanyl OD more times than I'm comfortable sharing.

Bawmit, that is a very sad and frightening story!! It must've been painful to retell that but as macd610 said, if it scares at least one person away from this drug it may have potentially saved a life.

Tricomb, thankyou for sharing your two cents on the topic as well. I agree, the high is so short and incredibly not worth money or the risk. I hate not knowing exactly how much of something I am doing and with the patch I'm never sure because everyone just eyeballs and cuts a random piece that they believe is the proper dose...

Very sketchy drug to abuse, I think I've read enough stories to decide not to meddle with this one again.

I don't usually smoke fentanyl, although I have used it alot. I've never overdosed from smoking it, it seems pretty easy to avoid unless you get reckless. I usually smoked match-head size blobs of the gel, even if it took several to get high I never did increase the size of the blobs, I just took more hits instead. I think this is a pretty safe method of doing it, if you must smoke it (which in my oppinion is a waste). Everyone on this forum seems to think this drug is the devil, I understand their concerns but fentanyl is just like any other opiate, treat it with caution and it is not much more dangerous than heroin or anything else for that matter.

The best and most effective (and probably safest) way to do fentanyl is to use the patches as intended, and keep in mind that it can take 24+ hours for them to reach it's full effect.

I overdosed on fentanyl once when I was a teenager and had not done any other opiates besides tramadol on a few occasions. I took one 75mcg/h fentanyl patch and placed it on my shoulder. Hung out with my friends for a while then took the train home. On the train I started getting really really sleepy (fell of the chair more than once). Well, as the little dumbass I was, I still liked the feeling so when I got home I just put on some music and went to lay down in bed. Well, the next thing I know is my brother and sister slapping me in the face trying to get me to wake up. Appearently I had slept for like 16 hours and now the patch had came into full effect. I was seeing double and could hardly keep my eyes open. My brother forced me to walk around outside with him, even though I felt so damn sick. It really sucked but could have gone worse.

with all due respect i have to strongly disagree. fentanyl isn't like any other opioid, it's top of the tier in the more accessible/popular opioids out there. it sits well above on the top. there's good reason why it's reserved for cancer patients with limited time left or as a last resort for those people dealing with a life long chronic pain condition.

i won't go into it much but a few things; a)it's dosages are in micrograms, that's how potent it is. the difference between a safe dose and a final last hit is/can be a measly few micrograms difference. and you just can't eyeball this shit like so many recklessly do with the gel reservoir patches. b) fentanyl is responsible for a large amount of overdoses. c) most people haven't the slightest when it comes to fentanyl upon first use and do fucking ridiculous things like eating whole patches at a time for whatever dumbfuck excuse.

and how about those instances of the fent laced dope killing so many users. sure, a lot of people where unbeknownst it was laced with fent but some did and they chased it down purposely - and i'm guessing a large proportion of these people overdosed, fatally or non-fatal.

i've overdosed on fentanyl when prescribed it so am all too familiar with the beast it is. it's pure hedonism except its a cold, heartless high with no euphoria - pure sedation, knock you on your ass within a few mins depending how you dose. and i've never once read of anyone on BL who has ever cautioned to measure their doses not including those who use the matrix patches which can be more accurately dosed accordingly.

Bawmit and trichomb, thanks a lot for sharing your stories, pulling on my damn heart strings :(

sorry for the rambling, i'm obviously doped up myself, but i'm of the opinion of trichomb that it's a cold hearted bitch and really has no place in recreational use IMO.

many new users have the exact same reaction as OP from many accounts i've read over the 8 years i've been visiting here. ok, rant/ramble over. sorry, guys.
