Fentanyl & Niacin.. Could that be a deadly combo?

Just a general wondering....
If you are using a fent patch, which obviously uses the bloodstream to deliver the meds....and you take a niacin supplement, will that pull more fent from the patch? [ Being that the niacin "flush" happens for 30 mins- 1 hr, opening your blood vessels, making your skin hot, etc...]
If so, more fent= possible OD? or the patch wont last its 72 hrs bc more fent was drawn out during the niacin incident?
i feel like a friggin idiot asking this question. I "UTSE" but found nothing.
Any input BlueLighters?

THX;)

No I don't see why this combo would be dangerous, it would be as dangerous as smoking a cig on the fent which isn't that dangerous at all...

The patch is specifically made to have sustained release, the only way to get a dose dump would be to heat the patch with a hand warner or something...otherwise, there shoupdnt be a problem

'preciate ya ;) I was just wondering bc when I take niacin, my skin heats up alot. thx for the reply.

no prolem! Niacin causes flushing by dilating (expanding) the blood vessels on the surface of the skin (vasodilation). however, fent patches are made to be continued release. even if you experience vasodilation, the patch will maintain at a steady dose.

just dont add heat to the patchm that is danerous. some people like to take them bucally (gums/cheek)but that is a different story. as long as you take the fent patch as prescribed and not try to abuse the fent by heating the patch with a warming pad, hand warmer, lighter, ect...and you should be fine

awesome, thx for the info on the niacin. yea those patches are somethin serious lol 8o

I can understand where this question is coming from because niacin heats up the skin and dilates the capillaries, so you would think it would cause the patch to release more fentanyl/your skin to absorb more, which I think it probably does. But I don't think it would be enough to make a noticeable difference. It's not like you can't go out in the sun or get some exercise while you have a patch on, right? I have never seen any warnings anywhere about taking niacin while using a transdermal drug delivery system. And the niacin flush shouldn't last very long. If you turn bright red and go really hot for an hour after taking it you're taking too much niacin in my opinion.
