Fentanyl gel seems too thin to cheek

I'm a chronic pain patient who has developed an affinity to cheeking the flat mylan patches. I cut them in strips, put one in my cheek and change it a couple hours later. It works wonders for my stomach pain. BUT this month my pharmacy gave me the gel filled. I know that this kind is preferred by most people.How do you cheek the gel when it's so thin and has the consistency of Astroglide?? and I've used the hell out of the search engine trying to find the answer to no avail.
I keep my mouth dry, did the alcohol swishing, etc.. The gel absorbed into my cheek and I feel nothing. I had always heard the gel was sort of gummy at a certain point. I don't want to smoke it, I don't want to do anything but find a way to use it in the cheek if possible.
Anyone want to help a sister out and enlighten me?

** Edit*** later I felt some mild opiate buzz symptoms, but damn they only lasted like 10 minutes.
Totally not worth it. I wish I could figure this shiz out!

What brand? I assume watson? Cant really help you further until we know the brand. It matters alot.

Yep, it's Watson! Sorry for the lack of info. I'm trying to just wear the patch, but damn it's hard after cheeking for over a year!

Unfortunately you can't really cheek these. They are highly desireable for smoking, but thats about it.

The gel pretty much just mixes with your saliva and 90% of it ends up being taken orally.

Oral bioavailability is around 33%, buccal (cheeking) is around 50%.

Believe it or not it has a transdermal bioavailabilty of nearly 100%. This is the most effective way with almost zero loss, however it will not provide the desired "rush" you're after.
