Opioids Fentanyl gel patch

So I've been reading that you can smoke the gel. They say put it on some foil light underneath it. Well I feel like I've done that and it just literally evaporates the gel no smoke comes off of it and I don't feel it so what am I doing wrong?

I'm funny that you should say that because it's actually not a new patch the expiration date says July 2005

It's a 50 and like I said it is gel and it had not been opened so I didn't really care about the expiration date
