Fentanyl Gel Patch - Taken orally - how long does it take to work?

I have a 50mch Fent patch that I cut into this morning at around 8:00. Since then I've been eating the gel in "pinhead" increments all throughout the day. It is now 5:30pm, and I still don't feel anything. No sedation, no euphoria....nothing. I have a moderate tolerance to opiates.

The time for a patch to "kick in" is around 15 hours if applied to the skin. But is that just how long it takes for the medicine to be absorbed through the skin? Or is that how long it takes for the medicine to kick in regardless of the route of entry?

Right now, I've eaten about 1/3 - 1/2 of the patch, and I still feel nothing - but if it takes 15 hours to kick in, then I won't notice till late tonight. What's the dealio here?
 
Are you doing it right? Your not supposed to eat it, rather put it on your gums. When I did my patch I took the cut strip between my gum and cheek like a wad of chew. It seems as though your dosing to small, but only you know your limits. When I did my patch the way I mentioned, I felt a little opiate buzz about 30-45 mins after I put it in my mouth.
 
Sounds like Russian roulette with a loaded automatic to me....

But I am afraid of the patches for any type of recreational use.

Still nothing yet. But I'm afraid to take any more for fear that I don't wake up tomorrow morning.

If I didn't know better I would swear it was a placebo. I'm quite surprised that I haven't felt anything. I'll take 1/2 a tablespoon of Kratom UEI and it damn near knocks me unconscious. But for some reason the little amount of Fent gel I've taken today has done absolutely nothing. Weird.

What's your tolerance to other opiates like hydro or oxy? I can take ~100mg of hydro to get a good buzz. When I did my 1st patch the other day it was a 25mcg/hr. There was 2.55mg of fentanyl total in the whole patch. I had to take ~0.85mg of fentanyl to feel any opiate effects. I dont know if it doesn't create much euphoria or what, but I barely had a buzz.
 
About 40 - 50mg of Hydro will give me a good buzz.

I've given up on this shitty fent patch. The rest of it is in the trash can....I'm going back to UEI.
