So someone I know nearly died after taking 2 xanexs, meth and accidentally some fentanyl. How long does it take to recover from a near death overdose? It happened to me once and it only took 2-3 days but we're going on day 3 and he's not feeling any better. He doesn't do fent ever so I'm wondering if that's why it's taking him longer to feel better. Any suggestions on what could help? Thanks

Hey there @krazykittrell88 could you tell us a little bit more about what's going on? It's difficult for us to know with what little you have reported here. There are myriad different issues that can arise when a person experiences "overdose". There are so many variables.

- How long did they go without/with too little oxygen?
- Are they experiencing Rhabdomyolysis?
- Was there something poisonous in their drugs?

Someone who overdoses and is reversed through an agonist like Naloxone (Narcan) should wake up and be no worse for the wear following a minute or two. There should not be any lasting damage from an event like this if there is no brain damage. Rhabdomyolysis is a breakdown of muscle tissue. Did your friend seek medical attention, get Narcan or wht? More information will help us.
