Misc Feeling empty and weak after stopping my risperidone treatment

For months, I've been taking Risperdal along with my antidepressant, at the psychiatrist's request.

I stopped taking the antipsychotic almost two weeks ago, and I still feel empty and apathetic, with anhedonia.

I had read that it takes time even after eliminating the product for the dopamine and serotonin receptors to return to normal, but I would like to know if this leaves permanent after-effects on the brain.

Look into antipsychotics and brain shrinkage, or atrophy. Not specifically an effect on mood, though it definitely can have effects on that. I wrote a research paper on this in college if you wanted to dm me. I learned a lot & I'd be open to share that with you if you're interested.

Have you tried prolixin or ability? They seem to have less side effects than risperidone or haloperidol or geodon.
