Fear of Serotonin Syndrome

Im on an anti-depressant, Paxil, and usually when I forget to take it I start feeling these uncomfortable symptoms such as vivid dreams, hypersensitivity, brain shocks, and just a general weird, fuzzy, indescribable feeling in my head. Lately, I've been experiencing all of these symptoms tenfold AND more.. It just so happens I forgot to take my Paxil a bit before these symptoms started happening, so I thought maybe it was just that. Sadly, Im starting to fear that it is a lot more than just forgetting to take my meds.. Of course, since I was unaware, I decided taking my pill would fix it so the last three days I've been adamant on taking my Paxil every day. It has since gotten much worse..

I had a seizure last night, which I had only ever had once before, along with extremely vivid dreams and involuntary twitches. All of this accompanied by the usual symptoms I get when I forget to take my meds. During serotonin syndrome is it normal to feel the symptoms of forgetting to take your meds? See, because of this I don't know if I should continue taking my Paxil (to maybe solve it?) or to stop taking it (to prevent further harm).

Now here's the scary part and my concern: I only started feeling these scary symptoms after ending my cocaine binge three days ago. This makes me think even more that serotonin syndrome is the cause.

Obviously,
I should see a doctor, which I will do. In the mean time though, do I stop taking my paxil or continue it? Also, do you think it is in fact serotonin syndrome? Has anyone had any experience with it? What do you usually feel and is it similar to the feeling you get when you forget to take your meds?

Help. :(

I used to be on Paxil for years and had to kick cold-turkey when I went to jail. From what I understand, Paxil has a really short half-life and stopping it abruptly can be dangerous. I heard its worse than kicking heroin. When I was tweaking almost on a daily basis I still took all my psych meds and never really had any problems with serotonin syndrome. Might want to check with a doctor

My advice is to switch to fluoxetine (Prozac) which is MUCH longer acting, and taper down from that.

^^ I agree with this

I know it fucking sucks and I feel for you but I don't think it is serotonin syndrome, it sounds like the classical withdrawal from SSRIs. I would taper down slowly and hopefully it won't be anywhere as intense :)

Good luck!
