Fear and how to overcome it

As do I! I'm actually getting a tattoo centred around it in the coming month or two.

As a longtime anxiety sufferer, fear was a huge, daily part of my life. Most fears can be dealt with by facing them (I love the 'make it familiar' comment!), but there are some that go deeper and may need help with being excised. Work on the former first, and the latter will be identified in short order.

I don't know what you mean by "fear." You have to give examples at least.

A general feeling of anxiety? Like you're tense or your brain is constantly blank? Like you say the first thing out of your mouth instead of being able to think?

Social anxiety? Phobias? Fear only in certain situations? Phobias of specific things?

Either way, I love Exposure & Response Therapy

I used to use this while on psychedelics (low dose) and it worked extremely well. For example, tripping a bit, going up a ski slope and really focusing on where your thoughts are going. Why am I panicing about falling? Why am I afraid of heights? etc.

another example, I did this to get over my fear of the dark. I smoked A LOT of weed. Then I locked myself in my room, turned off the lights completely (no LEDs etc) and sat in the middle of the room. I began to imagine how this room would look in the morning, and why it wouldn't be scary in the morning time. It was illogical to be afraid of it at night, and worrying wouldn't help anything anyway.

See the "Tea Form Exercise" .. the only link I can find that's detailed is:

and there is a book on it by Sam Obitz.

Good luck!
