i'm assuming this belongs here...

just out of curiosity, for those people here interested in theatre, who are your most revered playwrights? Greek tragedy to contemporary drama, it's all good...

at the moment I'm reading a lot of Beckett (Endgame right now, just finished All That Fall, Waiting for Godot) and enjoy his rampant absurdism...brilliant control of language and such strange and wonderful characters. finished Chekhov's 'the Three Sisters' not too long ago as well...awesome piece of writing, love the dry wit (reminds me a little of wilde)

First and foremost im going with David Mamet...he has some great dark witty humor, Sexual Perveristy in Chicago is one of my favorites.

Going a little old school with it, no matter how many times i have to read them, for basically every class since high scool...Medea, written by Euripdes and Oedipus Rex by Sopheclues always interested me.

Sam Sheppard has always effected me some way as well

So i love WAting for Godot as well, but reading it im not sure i really understood and was kinda bored by the repition...i didnt really love it untill i saw it on stage.

Im sure i'll add more later
