I got a few:
"How terribly strange to be 70..." -- Simon and Garfunkel, Old Friends.
I've never found a better description of what it must feel like to be old.
"Well what can I tell you, my brother, my killer? What can I possibly say? I guess that I miss you... I guess I forgive you. I'm glad you stood in my way." -- Leonard Cohen, Famous Blue Raincoat.
"And you know SOMETHING is happening, but you don't know what it is... Do you, Mr. Jones?" -- Bob Dylan, Ballad of a Thin Man.
One of my favorite Dylan songs, hell, one of my favorite songs of all time. The chorus is so bitterly snide and tauntingl. Love it.
"And you think you're so clever and classless and free... but you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see." -- John Lennon, Working Class Hero
"And the people bowed and prayed to the neon God they made." Simon and Garfunkel, Sounds of Silence.
The message of that song has only grown in relevance since the 60s.
"No one's frightened of playing it, everyone's slaying it, flowing more freely than whine, all through the day: 'ImemineImemineImemine'" -- The Beatles, I Me Mine.
Another song that's only become increasingly truthful with age.
"And we can force you to be free! And we can force you to believe!" -- David Bowie, Cygnette Comitte.
All I can think of right now.
