False Positive on Drug Tests

Good Evening,

Has anyone ever been tested Positive on a drug test for something they haven't taken before? I'm on probation and i'm thinking about taking DXM for the first time. I hear that they don't test for dextromethorphan but sometimes dextromethorphan will show up positive under Opiates or Phencyclidine. If you are falsely tested positive for a drug test, do you deny it? I'm obviously not going to say I abused DXM cough syrup so what do I say if this conversation does come up in the future? There is lists of drugs that can show up untrue on drug tests so a false positive drug test actually seems fairly common. If anyone has any simular stories or experience with this topic, please share.

I wouldn't risk it with probation. They will not be lenient and most likely will not care what explanations you offer them. When I was on probation/parole there were many people that got taken into custody for testing positive, for medications they were prescribed. If you test positive they usually cuff you first and ask questions later, once you are being held and need a lawyer.

I don't know what you are on probation for, but if you value your freedom, don't fuck around with the drug tests.
