once upon a time
in a time not unlike today
there was a girl
she wore her heart on her sleeve
and bled beautiful for everything she loved.
this girl was misunderstood
often people would think she was
cold..unresponsive..antisocial
"a little...off"
much to the contrary, she felt a little too much
too often and
her heart would beat a little too fast
her hands would shake a little too much
and she would sit silent in a room
totally alone while surrounded by everyone
until she regained composure.
and she remained misunderstood.
quite often she sat
and she longed for the chance to scream aloud
how she felt
what she thought
and to revel in the moments she created in her own head.
but chaos and fate always stood in her way
and when she would open her mouth to speak
she would find her words gone.
when she would close her eyes to sleep
the dreams wouldn't comfort her.
all she could find was broken glass
and empty promises
empty words and empty rooms
and her slowly fading empty heart
and all she wanted was to speak truth
and let someone inside.
because its a lonely place to be
it is far too cold and
there is not enough light
and the general lack of warmth during these times is rather overwhelming.

this was a nice peice, it reminded me of the girl i was in highschool , always quiet and shy, and everytime i did speak it was as if i were invisible, or what i said was in a uncomprehendable language......
liked this part :

thanks so much, peace!

i love your work, as always.
part of it reminded me of a part in "Riding in Cars with Boys":
"Sometimes you love someone so much you just become numb to it. Cause if you really felt how much you love them,it would kill you."
i love that line.

uh...goodnitestar...i think we were the same girl in high school....shudder2think i've always loved and related to your work....thank you...
