the staff member (who shall remain nameless) that i raised this with over pm gave me an answer that doesnt match with the f.a.q and either will not or cannot rectify the discrepancy... thus i seek enlightenment here, through you lot..

anyone else with a question on rule specifics etc can also put it here if they so wish, but seeing as i dont particularly care for other peoples' considerations, feelings or wellbeing in general, really... once i get my answer the thread can be closed

its nothing particularly interesting, but the staff member told me that when serving a ban, if an alt is created and duly discovered - the result is infractions against both accounts, whereas i had thought and indeed the f.a.q states that any temp accounts for those serving bans - if discovered - will result in immediate bans for both accounts

im assuming the f.a.q outranks a mere, here today - gone tomorrow staff member.. but who knows, perhaps it needs updating... so whats the dealio

AFAIK alts are banned on sight once they have been properly confirmed as being alts of a temp/banned user. Although I do believe said bans (to the original account) mostly come about cos a previously temp/banned user generally already has a shitload of points so even if it's just points added to the original account it will usually result in an extended ban. Users who have become known as being total timewaster trolls - and have been given multiple chances to sort themselves out with their original account - get banned whenever they're discovered under any account. An example would be Head_Funk (latest incarnation being DSP) who got banned over the weekend when he was confirmed as being a longtime EADD troll with several accounts going back several years.

Of course I may be mistaken as it's been a while since I wielded a stick. I'm sure current staff can answer better but thought I'd waffle a bit as I just came round from a phenibut spazzfest and have some residual stimulation to work off before passing out again in a minute 8)

cheers shambles, funny thing is... soon as i saw dsp, had a feeling it was a troll/bloke

i mean, he knew all the 4chan bollocks... and we all know thats one big boys only fagfest

similar to the lounge i suppose

if a mod can confirm wut shambles said (which i suspect is true) thread can be closed and with a bit of luck, swiftly forgotten about

I'm not sure I 100% understand your concerns BHM.

Members serving temp bans who create an alt will have their alt account banned, and incur an infraction point against their ORIGINAL account. As Shambles said, if this original account already has a number of infractions against it, further infractions will increase the length of time of the temp ban.

And yeah, as Shambles said, once someone is on a ban and it's CONFIRMED that they've come back under a new name the new account name will usually be permabanned.

I can't believe how many people thought DSP was female. Was obviously a bloke. I knew he seemed to be familiar with the site, and therefore was an alt, but I didn't know it was Head-Funk.

if that pm from laugh was genuine then megalol.

bhm: see, that's how to troll properly.

Although your question has been answered, I'm sending this over to the support forum, as this is not an EADD issue.

EADD -> Support

Thank you for pointing this out.

The current rule is that any alts creating during a temp ban will result in the banning of the alt, and an infraction point given to the original account, not a ban.

There is nothing more to add to this since it has been answered, so I'm closing this.
