EZ Test leaks..

I've had my EZ Test for over a year now. Haven't used it much lately, so it sits in my drawer. I haven't used it since January, and a few months before that. The container is leaking and is covered in the solution whenever I actually use it. I put the cap on tight too. My question, would this cause the solution to not work properly anymore?

Simple deterioration of the active chemicals. This stuff doesn't last forever. If you are storing EZ-Test (ie Marquis reagent) for a long time you should keep it standing up and in the fridge. Having it on the side is not good. Purchasing a new test kit every 6 months is a good rule of thumb
