Extracting DXM?

I've read plently about extracting DXM, and I know a lot of you have probably done it...but everything I have found so far about the process is very complex and has A WHOLE LOT of steps and procedures involved...so I was just wondering some of the simplest ways to do this...I have heard you can just put a few sucrets in some boiling water and the residue left is the DXM from them...but that's just a little too general you know? And everything else elaborates about some other completely different process...so bascially any posts reguarding the simplest extraction of DXM will be appreciated! And remember, I DID do the searches...so I know a lot of what's there...thanks!

the only method ive heard involved something like putting them in water, microwaving until they dissolve, then straining that and drinking the liquid solution that is left.
Any way of evaporating the solution that is left, or would the dxm somehow be carried in the alcohol?
