Extra strength syrup ( dm expectorant)

Hey again guys thank you for the help last time probably saved me a lot of trouble. This time I got something different... from my buddy.

I got a bottle of DM Expectorant (Extra Strength) Syrup. (PURPLE IN COLOR)

Says here that each 5 mL teaspoon contains:

dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 15 mg

guaifenesin 200 mg




In NON-medicinal ingredients it says:

Alcohol, citric acid, d & c red no. 33, fd & c red no.40, flavor, glycerin,Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose .....and some more

NOTE AFTER THE LIST SAYS "added as sweeteners"


I made sure I didn't get nothing with castor oil since it makes me really sick. What is the best way to take in the syrup and will it be safe to achieve decent buzz/high?

There really isn't any way. The guaifenesin in there will most likely make you sick (as well as the various other "sweeteners" added) before you get any effect from the DXM.

1. The guaifenesin will make you projectile vomit.
2. DXM really isn't good if you're just looking for a cheap buzz.

The syrup should have DXM only.

When I used to do dxm, the only syrup I ever got was the Vicks 44 dry cough, it contained 30mg of dxm per serving and nothing else.
