Recently, my Mom walked outside to tend to some bushes and a bat flew out of the shutters. She said that it didn't touch her, but she either felt wind from it or it may have lightly brushed her hair. However, she said that it definitively did not actually touch her scalp itself. She keeps saying that it's nothing to worry about, but this whole thing is making me quite nervous. Part of me thinks maybe it's not since the bat didn't actually touch her scalp at all while flying past, but I'm just quite nervous at the thought of a bat flying so close. You couldn't get rabies from it brushing your hair though? Right? She was awake and all, so it wasn't the scenario of one flying around in the bedroom at night. However, I just wanted a second opinion, though I realize that part of my concern could be due to the fact that frankly the mere thought of bats being around makes me somewhat anxious. So, this whole thing is making me extremely anxious. I was saying that maybe she should call the doctor and ask just to be sure, but she didn't want to simply because she said she hates dealing with doctors.
