Cocaine expiration date of cocaine & saline solution???

I understand why the bacteria would grow in such a mix, but, IS IT SAFE TO USE??
As said, bacteria is everywhere, so would snorting the solution with the bacteria beok be okkay to do or would it lead to an infection?

Sorry about the poor typing before, I am just trying to determine if snorting the before mentioned solution would result in a high likelihood of infection or not? If the solution is visibly free from bacterial contamination to the naked eye, then how bad could it be? On a side note, does anyone know how much liquid the average nasal conchae(sic) can hold?

Is inhaling a fine mist of concentrated aqueous bacteria safe? I suppose that depends on what kinds of health risks you're willing to take in the course of using drugs.

Is there a high likelihood? It again just depends on the situation, because there is no telling which strains of bacteria, fungi, etc you might be dealing with. There being nothing visible is neither here nor there, just because you can't see something, it does not mean that something can't hurt or kill you.

Bottom line - one would probably be fine most of the time, but why risk it? As someone who's seen a patient die due to a fungal infection in the sinuses, I won't be risking it anytime soon.

Dokomo, Thanks so much for answering thos questions . That explaination totally clears this things up for me :)

thank you all for your answers, very helpful. I am just left with one more question...since we'll assume such a solution is contaminated, what can be added to make it safe for ingestion, if that is possible...? I know alcohol has been mentioned, but what type specifically and how much? That is, how much of the alcohol for say a 10ml solution? Thanks in advance again

You'd need benzyl alcohol, and for 10mL of solution you would need to add about 0.1mL of it.

Nothing will make it SAFE, once you have added cocaine. You can eliminate the added risk posed by any bacteria by adding alchohol, making it a little safer. Im still obstinate that the cocaine itself is far more detrimental to your nasal cavity than any bacteria might be.

Sorry to nitpick semantics, Its not my intention to be strident, just want to stress that cocaine should never be considered safe and I find nose damage particularly vexing.

/off soapbox

using cocaine + saline mix DANGEROUS

My last thread was closed so had to start this, my friend used the saline + cocaine nasal spray method w/out adding any alcohol and now has a fever of around 102.0 so please if anyone is going to use this ROA please add alcohol to prevent bacterial contamination.

Thanks

for people who want to know what kind of alcohol and how much to use:1% benzyl alcohol.( http://www.researchsupply.net/Benzyl_Alcohol.html )
so that is .1cc/ml or 10units per every 10cc/ml of solution you are making.
*that is for IV solutions (keeps them sterile for almost a month) , so it should deffinately be good enough for intranasal use*

EDIT A DAY LATER: lol i just noticed that i said what dokomo said a couple posts up.

Don't assume the nasal spray caused his illness... it might have, it might not have. But he absolutely should get checked out by a medical professional.

Apparently I closed your last thread and I *never* close threads without any explanation so I'm thinking it was an accident. There's no reason it should've been closed so I personally apologize. I reopened it and I am merging this one into that. In the future if a thread is closed and you'd like to post regarding the same topic, please PM myself or other staff and just let us know. We're amenable to requests like that if they're reasonable like yours.

Thank you for the replies and no need for apologies, I will follow the protocol you gave in the future. You are right, there is no certainty in what I said. My friend may not have gotten sick due to the spray, but given the timing it seemed like there was a strong correlation between the two events. That said, even if the aforementioned solution did not cause the illness, such a possibility does exist, and everyone who uses this ROA should be warned that adding the alcohol as mentioned is a must if just to be extra safe,

Thanks and good health

Any other symptoms or things to look our for? I hope he's feelin better :(

Yeah he said his snot was bright green, and his lymph nodes or glands, or whatever those things under your jaw by your ears are, were painful to the touch. Luckily all the symptoms went away about 4 days after my friend stopped using his solution. Unfortunately, they also went away before his Dr appointment so can't be certain as to what it was. The spray may have caused his illness, or he simply may have had the flu and the spray just exacerbated his symptoms. Can't be sure, but I know he'll never do that again without adding the proper alcohol.

BUT, he wonders if a saline spray that already contains preservatives would make the addition of alcohol unnecessary? Anyone have any thoughts?

^Preservatives do not equal sterilization. Preservatives simply ensure the stability of the active ingredient. They're counting on the medication NOT being contaminated from the beginning because it is sterilized via irradiation after beeing sealed.

Saline is good for on the spot dosing, but for maintaining a solution, a preservative is needed.

As Doko said, the saline only relates to the saline's state bfore anything touches it, so it is good for use as a vehicle to get powder into the noce, but if your pill is contaminated, or your storage container is contaminated (more likely, I'd say), then you'll be exposing the spray to many new bacteria in the process...
