a short search revealed no published information about ortetamide. does someone have references for this one?

I love getting the heeby geebies from clortermine.

Previous Wiki:
Clortermine is a stimulant drug which was used as an appetite suppressant. It is the 2-chloro derivative of the better known appetite suppressant phentermine. It is the only drug known to mankind that is both non-addictive and highly pleasureable. Discovered by Dr. John Bendrix in 1984, he tested it initially on his infant daughter to cure her cold. After discovering the true nature of the drug, he named it Clortermine, after his daughter Clorterfox. Street names include, the "heebie-jeebies" (because of the intense desire to masturbate publicly it produces), and the "feel-good-china-powder". It exists solely in Thailand.

Sounds like an oxymoron to me :(

amphecloral is metabolized into chloral hydrate (or possibly trichloroethanol) and amphetamine in vivo... that's all i could find out about it

I'm going to have to call bullshit on this one. First, a drug that is 'non-addictive and highly pleasurable' is indeed an oxymoron. I think the amphetamines are a perfect example of why: even if amphetamines are not physically addictive (i.e. they do not possess the withdrawal syndrome of opioids / CNS depressants), they are quite psychologically reinforcing. Thus, people can still want to continue taking them compulsively, despite the lack of physical withdrawal symptoms. Second, we are talking about chlorinated phentermine here. Phentermine is a horrible stimulant with very unpleasant sympathomimetic effects, especially at high doses. Unless the 2-chloro moiety engenders some dopaminergic magic, I think that the description is mainly an urban myth.

clorterfox indeed :-)

not chloro and phentermine then...

would imagine that the o chloro gives some serotinergic activity a la trifluoromethyl, as in dexfenfluramine.

Riemann, I may be wrong but I believe your BS meter is overpowering your humor meter.

who the hell tests something initially on their infant daughter...for a cold no less!!!!
now if anything raised eyebrows on that Wiki-info that should have

i think the actual chemical name is ortetamine, not ortetamide

in regards to ortetamine, the actual name if you want to use something familiar and notably showing it to be not at all exotic is phentermine as ortetamine is an obscure synonym and the structural diagram taken from Psychotropics is incorrect of course for a,a-dimethyl-Benzeneethanamine

i write how i think and i think in streams so i always tend to write run-on sentences unless it is a formal paper and then i go back and fix all the run on sentences that abound, LOL

That is a JOKE entry in Wikipedia. I mean, read it & it's just nonsense. Someone put it there (maybe a BLer) to make them sound cool & knowledgable but it's a crock of shit, that I am certain of... :|

BTW What's wrong with plain Aminorex, or maybe the 3,4 methylenedioxy varient. I feel sure that it would become the new E.
