I've been working out in the gym quite a lot recently, and it's been helping. Thanks to NSA for this wonderful thread.
Hey Thanks Captain

. I love it when we hit upon something that makes a true positive difference in our lives. Is it helping with the PTSD?
Already reworked my approach to basically fit some of the ideas you presented Red. Flipped my pyramids over and am starting after quick warm up with the higher weight lower reps first and working the opposite way I was. All the places I work strong muscles where I never did 5x5 as part of my cycle I have or am adding in 3x6 and then some of these places I used to just do sets of twelve I'm dropping the weight and adding reps up to 18-20 again three sets. So I guess I will be doing a rotating cycle of 5x5, to reverse pyramid from 2-12, 2x6, with the inclusion of close grip, high reps flys (incline, decline, strait)
Also tried the lifts you gave me for lower chest.. LOL.. i had a tough time doing them.. the skins session I had must have some how worked that area pretty good As i was sore.
I have been a little bumming on legs. quad tightened up a week or so ago and some pain and inflammation went down my muscle and worked it way around the knee cap. What weirded me out about it was that it felt just like I got infected.. you know how it kinda slowly tightens up and then stays sore for a grip.. well thats exactly what it was like.. but today that shit seems to be a distant memory.
Oh and I figured out that I have had my standard bench grip one finger over to morrow on each side.. when I did this minor adjustment I added 20-40 pounds immediately (I kinda switched in the middle of a set.. by the time i was confident it was what was supposed to be the 2 rep push, with the new grip I easily did it eight times. so I guess I may not be as week in the chest as I thought. .. I dislocated my shoulder a way back in the day playing hockey and as those things never heal its fucked with me in situations ever since.. because of this I had a really weird angle of my arm for allot of chest exercises.. This in turn caused my shoulder to do more of the lifting.. spread it out one finger on each side and the difference was kinda night and day.
Also I dont know what the deal is but I,m really getting stronger in leaps and bounds.. I dont think I have ever climbed this quick before..
Now I need to figure out a couple of more tricep exercises.. get a real strong back routine going.. add in some more leg lifts that I tend to skip.. and whenever it warms up start trail running outside.
So anyway just wanted to take stock of where I am.. sorry for the ramble..
