Ex heroin- Oxy contin addict

So I've been seeing a great doctor who is treating me with suboxine. I have done a large amount of hallucinations (when I was younger I took 3 hits of acid every morning for 3 months, while also taking xtc pcp shrooms and a Hal ounce of pot a day, ended my psychedelics with 15 hits of acid and a horrific traumatizing bad trip). I ended up with a hell of anxiety and depression disorders. Since then I've been on maybe 15 different anti depresents along with alprazolam, klonopin, ambien, OxyContin- those were self medicated. Ended up getting addicted and now I'm about a year and a half sober and I can fall asleep for the first time in 5 years without a drug. What I am worried about is that no medication is working, I'm prescribed 2mg Xanax XR BOD and 75mg of Effexor 2x daily. Obv. - non- recreational. I've been using this site for many years, just never had to register. I'm worried now because my doc just took my blood and is going to put me on lithium or something exactly like that. Heard that stuff is no joke, but I went through testing and it looks like drugs have done some permenant damage to me. Sucks I know. Well theyre's my history, here's something about myself. I'm (was) a skydiver until my dropzone heard I was an addict and they wouldn't let me jump until I got a doctors signature saying I'm ok to do so. No I am not retarded and have insulffated a roxy then skydived, just plain stupid when your solo. I was also a sponsored skateboarder. I'm an adrenaline junkie, always looking for a rush. Give me something big to jump off of and I'll base jump it. It's illegal and I don't need a docs signature to do it. I can skydive now, but haven't done to money problems. Had to sell my 5,000$ parachute. Anyway, theyre's my introduction and any advice on the lithium, besides being careful and getting my blood checked- already got it done. What will I expect to experience and how long does it take for the effects to kick in. I hope it's not as long as SSRI'S.
