Woke up early today;
The cat was crying for his breakfast
So I got up and fed him
Brewed a pot of coffee and sat at the table
Read the newspaper
Poured some hazelnut syrup
And I thought to myself

Everything's eventual.

You emailed me earlier today;
Told me Bennie and Gillian and
Jamie and Juliana had split up all at once
Said it must be something in the air
I swallowed a mouthful of coffee
And I thought to myself

I thought I was crying;
When really all it took was a friend to tell me
I wasn't usurped I was replaced

Like you've just got this idea of goodness
And I thought to myself again

So yeah I've met some cute guys;
Guys who seem to like me lots
Something still twists but
After a second or so it fades away
I think romance is in the air again
Someone somewhere new
I smile to myself and say out loud
