^yeah, I always flash my lights to let people know theirs are off.

and one time, a cop started to drive off (at night) with no headlights on. he was going slow, so I ran up along the car from the sidewalk, (it was downtown on a college street), flagged him down, and gave him a heads up. he was pissed about it, and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)
 
This isn't actually a myth. It really works. If you have a zit rear its ugly head,smear a dab of toothpaste(it has to be the paste,not the gel)on it before you go to sleep. When you wake up,the zit will be almost,if not completely gone.
 
Also,if you are bitten by a snake,having someone suck the poison out will do nothing but make that person look like an ass.

I guess it depends on what point someone is using "they" to back up. Usually if I hear someone say "they say that..." it's usually related to something medical, so it's usually from some study in a peer reviewed journal or some other new finding in what ever field it's from.

Though by and large I think most people use it as a cop out so that they don't have to provide a source, they disguise hearsay and anecdotes as something supported by an established community. Though the "they" do exist.

So you're telling me that when I finally bust out that trick from snakes on a plane (y'know, rinse with olive oil then suck that poison out ;) ) I'm not gonna be a hero?!

apes don't even have voice boxes!! humans are the only animals with actual voice boxes and vocal chords. i learned that from anthropology. incidentally, humans are the only animal with true "speech" as well, although almost all animals have some way of communication :)
 
By the way, the men thinking of sex every 7 seconds myth was invented by a marketing campaign for playboy tv.
