The alarm goes off.
I hit the sleep button, to catch a few more precious minutes of rest, before having to get up for the day.
While in this bleary eyed state between sleep and awakeness, I run through my waking up thoughts...
"Do I have to do anything today?"
"Will I make a difference today?"
"Does anything I ever do make a difference?"
This self-analysing continues, until my eyes because clear, and I lift myself out of bed...
Then I start to get ready for the day, showering, dressing, applying the facade that is my persona that the world gets to see, hiding my true self away.
Now, time to go out there and be the false me...

I know how it feels to put on the face that has to face the world.good work

amazing isn't it , we go through life wanting to be adults and when we get there finding a purpose and direction is a whole different way of life..
good work !

One of the most important components of a happy existance is being happy with oneself, being content and not desiring to change to be someone else...
Is the false you someone who makes a difference to the world? ...Probably not, so if that's the reason for trying to be someone else, there's not much point...
But ultimately, trying to make a difference is unimportant, we're all rather insignificant, certainly on a universal scale, but also on a more local scale... We shouldn't be depressed if we don't affect the lives of a great number of people, we're all important to some people, and as long as we're not making the lives of others worse, then we should be able to be happy the way we are...
Be yourself Dante, I know you're not a bad person, so you will find people out there who like you for who you are...

However... we shouldn't be content to live a passive life. No matter how small the difference is, you'd be surprised at the things you do that DO make a difference.
I think it's an extremely healthy thing to ask these questions.. it's healthy to WANT to make a difference and it's so easy to do.
Do you recycle? Do you donate clothes to the Smith Family? Do you buy things from Salvation Army Stores? Do you pick up litter on the beach.. etc etc.
I bet there's about a billion little things you do that you don't even think twice about that make a difference to someone or something somewhere in the world :)
