Ever Been Fucked Around by the Emergency Room? I Need Your Story

i was denied treatment for panic and anxiety multiple times in one hospital despite drug tests/blood pressure/heart rate tests all showing i needed sedation and having an order for a shot of ativan every four hours when i was hospitalized in their non-narcotics unit (this is the same hospital where i was put on the klonopin i was asking for - different doctors, didn't listen, dismissed me, thought i sounded too smart or aware or didn't trust my status for other reasons like socioeconomic combined with that and age, idk. basically just treated like a pill seeker when i wasn't.) treated like i was faking it once when hospitalized with a panic attack. the nurse condescendingly told me to "change how you breathe, that's why you can't breathe" etc with an "ugh" tone of voice. i had no control over my body at that point and was freaking out. she even chastised me for cursing. as an adult. in the ER. i had to try to walk out of the room before i got help...i hobbled out and almost collapsed.

the last time i had to go to an ER (besides a recent cut on my finger from chopping lettuce) was to get a script of klonopin before i could see a psychiatrist for it and i was able to get it from the regular ER here and avoid the mental health one (thank god). the mental health one is like visiting prison with the clear option to join...one foot in the door, so to speak. luckily being on benzos beforehand is, actually, a medical issue just as it would be if i were on it for epilepsy.

i talk to doctors honestly and firmly now and just hope i get one who actually listens and has some compassion?

last time they gave me an EKG for my heart rate...never happened before. it was nice to have them recognize something is actually off? not just some nurse raising an eyebrow and it stopping at that.
