Howdy folks,
newly joined today and thought i'd say hello and give a little background. i live in the Northants area of the UK. I started off on my drug journey like most with weed, well i say weed, all you could really get when i started was Hash. good hash. then on to acid, whizz, e's....until one fateful night after the pub nearly 20 years ago we went back to a mate's house to smoke some Heroin. addicted within 3 months and the rest is history. Recently came off Merhadone after a good decade. Still using. If only Heroin wasn't addictive....

anyway, i like what you guys do here in the name of HR. keep up the good work!

Yeah, your story sounds pretty familiar mate. Sorry you got addicted :(

Are you trying to get completely clean? If so, check out the Recovery Support Forums and also Sober Living for some support, advice or just to check out other stories and get involved.

sorry for the tardy reply and thank you for the welcome :)

Don't be sorry i got addicted buddy, it was all my own fault. As for trying to get completely clean, the jury is still out on that one. During my 15-20 years of Heroin addiction i have had spells of being clean. Short spells where i kidded myself i could just do it on paydays or once a week and so on. Part of me knows that i need to get clean as i can't have an addiction and do all other things i want to do in life. Financially i can either have an addiction or live a more fulfilling life. The other part of me, the irrational monkey on my back, loves coming home from work and having a boot. Addiction is so hard to pin down, I don't believe it's a disease, i just feel i need more strength, focus and motivation.

Hey Bob, not rambling at all, I totally sympathise with your situation :)

Have you checked out Sober Living yet? You might find some really helpful folks there who could support you in whatever you decide to do next.
