Euphoria isn't what it's worked up to be

I always hear and read all these threads about how opiates make you feel euphoric and it's the greatest feeling and I mean I like it and it feels good but I don't feel like it's that euphoric I feel like it's affecting me differently but I'm not sure. I have adhd so caffeine has the complex opposite effect on me so maybe it's that? Or am I not taking a large enough dose the first time I took 15 mg and then after a few times at that I took 21.5 so is this just not enough for me to feel it and don't get me wrong I feel it just not how everyone describes it

Different people experience different amounts and types of euphoria based on many factors, such as set, setting, dose, substance, expectations, and individual variability, which makes sense since different people have different brains and everything.

Yeah definitly different people different reactions. The first time I took hydro I took 10mg and was nodding with lots of euphoria, maybe you expected too much.

Also make sure you are on an empty stomach, wait 2 1/2-3 hours or more after eating. Once they have kicked in wait 30 minutes and have a small meal, then you will definitly feel them.

I've only experience the "nodding euphoric" feeling from opioids once in my life. I have chronic pain, so that kind of dampens the high a bit. But anyway, I didn't feel this effect until after I had built up a decent tolerance from taking for pain and chewing up 200mg of morphine sulfate when I was used to taking 100mg and not really getting much of a high. My tolerance is much larger now, and I doubt I could ever get that feeling again (I've shot heroin and it didn't even compare because my tolerance is so much more built up now.), but I was GONE and blissful all night slipping in and out of sleep.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THESE DOSES. I'm assuming you were talking about hydrocodone based on your doses. I wouldn't go higher than 30 to 50mg if you want to try it again, and do so on an empty stomach.

I know what you mean, I've taken hydros (20 - 30mg) a few times and all I ever get out of it is a sedated body high. But like others have said, everyone is different. You either need to up your dosage or try a different drug. I personally don't see the hype, but I guess that's for the better since opiates can seriously fuck you if you aren't careful with them.

You should be glad that they don't help you or get you very high. if you aren't getting any overly exciting high or pain relief from opiates the risk/reward ratio is not good.

Ive smoked and snorted street brown never getting that blissful euphoria feeling. However snorting subutex 8mg on zero opiate tolerance made me feel the best ever, itchy veins etc. I would not recommend doing this on as low a tolerance as i had/still have because at the time i was uneducated and didnt realise just one tablet could be so powerful. My pal who was an iv user for 6,7 years was worried at the time but luckily i was fine and enjoying myself.

Unless you're slamming dope or Dilaudid-- and I am NOT suggesting someone does-- often the opioid high is much more subdued than people are expecting. It's almost never a knock-you-off-your-feet high, more like a calm and warm contentedness. In addition, not everyone is capable of feeling the exact same psychological and physical effects from opioids as the next person. As others have pointed out, everyone's body and brain is different. For some, opiates/oids just cause pain relief, nausea, itchiness, and sleep. I see this time and time again, newbie opioid users complaining that it's not all it's cracked up to be. The answer is almost invariably that expectations were set too high or that it was simply never meant to happen with your body chemistry.

Like other posters have said, you should consider yourself lucky that it's not been much fun. Take it as a sign. Opioids are absolute life-ruiners.

That´s it. Your answer is basically summed up in all of these posts, and up here more specifically..

I liked my smack for a few years, it was bloody nice but not euphoric imo. Again, we're all different.

Aren't you the same person that's been posting threads about how you've been using opioids daily and your worried about becoming dependant? Be careful, that subtlety is what reels you into thinking that opioids aren't so bad... until you can't function without em'.
