Etizolam vs phenazepam for anxiety

I recently purchased Etizolam from a reputable vendor, small blue pills. I have no experience with benzos per se but I do suffer
from GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) but my the doctors in my country refuse to prescribe benzos unless you're in the psychiatric ward.

I felt very little from these although I've read they're on par with Alprazolam. It has a calming effect and with higher doses hypnotic. Dose was 2x 1mg. No anxiolytic effects. No euphoria.

I'm wondering whether my long term use (18 months) of Zopiclone (Lunesta) and Zolpidem (Ambien) have given me a high tolerance? I need them for rebound insomnia.
Even though they're not even benzos, just some derivatives. As I'm unable to procure real benzos, would Phenazepam do the trick (for anxiety).
Seems like Etizolam just doesn't cut it....

Hi Sams0n, welcome to BL :)

I have made your post it's own thread rather than leaving it on the end of an old thread - that way hopefully you will get better replies :)

I'm sorry etizolam didn't work for you - people seem to vary hugely in their responses, I find it very relaxing and even a little euphoric where as others don't get anything from it at all.

Be very very careful with phenazepam. BL is littered with horror stories as it is extremely potent and long lasting. You really need to use liquid dosing - there is no other way to safely measure the tiny doses you need - and due to the extremely long half life if you overshoot you could lose days or even weeks of your life. I don't know how well it does for anxiety, but personally I have been scared enough to never want to go near it..

Have a quick look at the benzo comparison chart in my signature - you are after anxiolytic benzos rather than hypnotic ones - although from your post I take it getting something prescribed isn't an option?

Have you thought about other treatments for your anxiety disorder? CBT can be extremely helpful, as can other talking therapies, and there are a few other medications that are licensed to treat anxiety (some SSRIs come to mind) but this would obviously be something to talk over with your doctor.. I know you weren't asking about that, but if you can't get relief from benzos it is certainly worth considering, and would CBT provide a more long term solution if it worked for you.

My advice is to stay away from phenazepam. The half life is simply too long in comparison to the effects.

Good advice. I still noticed an effect on day two but not day 3 when in theory there would still be over 50% in your body.

At least you can get Etizolam measured out into 1mg pills instead of a big baggie of powder. Big baggies of benzo powder seem to me to create more horror stories than the measured ones.

Sams0n please don't ask me for any sources but if you're determined to use a benzo, you can find pretty much whatever you want out there, you don't need to use a RC. You can also get another doctor. No reasonable doctor should have a problem with you having a dozen .5mg xanax if you have acute anxiety or panic attacks. From my personal experience I had relief from panic attacks at constant doses, but the same level of anxiety would come back until they raised it again.

I'd advice you not to make it a habit no matter what the availability. I spent 6 months reducing my dose of clonazepam from 4mg to 1mg and at times it was very difficult. At around 1.5mg I started getting legs jerking randomly while trying to go to sleep and at around 1mg it was intolerable (was going down by .25 every 3 weeks). Tons of other symptoms too but this isn't my benzo taper story, be safe.

PS. Zopiclone/Imovane is cross-tolerant to some extent with benzos, they're just more specific in the GABA receptor subtype they agonize.

hi Sams0n

What country are you from ?

Agree with the above though leave Phenazepam well alone

You guys are aware that phenazepam is comin in pill form manufactured by valenta pharm. I only ask because of the comments on liquid dosing being by far the safest way. I would think the safest way is probably in tablet form. Of course than you are really brushing up close to the law and I understand this, however I have seen nothing negative happen thus far. The powder of course tends to be way cheaper mg for mg but please be very careful. TBH I would go the powder route but if you are unsure at all about the math or the solubility or the half life buildup I suggest tablets.

Yes, the Z drugs like zopiclone and zolpidem have cross tolerance with benzodiazepines. I would advise you to take more etizolam and stay away from phenazepam. It is very easy to trick yourself you're not feeling anything on phenazepam prompting you to take more. This is bad since it has such a long half-life you mind end up blacking out for two days and getting into all kinds of trouble or dangerous situations. Stick to the etizolam and increase your dose ever so slightly until you get the desired relief. Good luck and stay safe :)
