Hi

I was wondering if Etizolam being a thiodiazepine and Olanzapine also being one but classed as an antipsychotic would etizolam cause anti-psychotic effects over time? Things like turning you into a zombie, making you fat etc?!

I'm not planning on using it everyday or to test for any antipsychotic effects by the way!

Unlikely.

It functions in a manner quite similar to the potent triazolo-BZD's such as alprazolam, etc. In my opinion, etizolam is subjectively most similar to estazolam (but that is splitting hairs).

The only thing those two chemicals have in common is a theinyl ring fused to a diazepine ring. Hence, they are "theinodiazepines"

Other than that similarity, the structures could hardly be more different, as are their effects.

(also, there are plenty of chemicals that have the benzodiazepine moiety, with effects completely different from what one normally refers to as benzodiazepines. A chemist might refer to them as benzodiazepines, but nobody else ever would!)
