Etizolam Metabolism

You can all probably help me answer this question:

Is Etizolam metabolized by CYP3A4, so would an inhibitor such as cimetidine increase blood plasma concentration and duration/intensity?

Any information or data on this would help! I know there are some studies out there that state this fact with other CYP inhibitors, but none mention cimetidine specifically.

Thanks everyone

Senolen

CYP34A is partially involved in the metabolism of Etizolam. Studies suggest that a CYP34A inhibitor will slow absorbtion of Etizolam leading to an increase in blood plasma levels.

Most of what ive read the drug used to inhibit CYA34A has been intraconazole. One studdy mentions other meds that have inhibiting effects and discusses the effects they have on etizolam. Cimetidine was among those discussed. The effects on the blood plasma level was significantly lower than the increase intraconazole caused. It did show to increase the duration of higher blood plasma levels, but little to no increase in the peak plasma concentration.

Ill search for the study showing various cyp inhibitors and the effects they have on the metabolism of various chemicals.

The graprefruit is famous for inhibate the CYP34A enzyme, but be cautious, the result can sometimes knock us hard^^

Have allready mixing Etizolam and other benzo with grapefruit , in fact it can add a little bonus in efficiency :)

I've never had any luck with mixing grapefruits with benzos. What's the protocol? How long before dosing should I eat grapefruit(s)?

Some people say only 30min can help but the best advice is to drink 3-4H before the drug ingestion

Don't remembered that's not all drugs are concern, maybe some benzo don't work with the same enzyme (?)

Usually I take my benzos. And then about 4 minutes later start pouring glasses of GF juice. Proceed to make GF juice my go-to drink for the night. Its not gonna knock your socks off, but helps get more bang for the bucks I guess. As for what type to buy, play it safe and get 100% juice, with pulp :D

Keep in mind there are some benzos that aren't metabolized by the same route, Ativan being one I believe.

Important to note too that Tobacco/Cigarettes are known to do the opposite & shorten your high, as well as take it down a notch.

Personally, I love cigs while on benzos but I am a tobacco fiend.
