etizolam for psychotic anxiety?

I need to live before I don't know if I'm dead
I was thinking.. when I've been in a psychosis I had extreme paranoid anxiety. My hypothesis is that etizolam or benzodiazepines could be given to the patient (I'm guessing high doses) to counteract the paranoia. I've seen that some mentally ill people are prescribed benzodiazepins for their anxiety, but I'm talking about daily relatively high doses of time release benzodiazepines for a week or two (with antipsychotic medication given as well) It could save people of traumatic experiences of group psychosis and making it easier to talk as well (when I was psychotic last I was so anxious(or psychotic idk) to really voice my issues.. I've been given shots of benzodiazepines which relaxed me for like 5 minutes, so for this idea to work it would have to be calculated time release benzodiazepines

Bluelight I'm asking you. Is this a good idea?

antipsychotics take months to reduce or hopefully stop psychotic symptoms. But when being hospitalized you're given your antipsychotic, and nothing to help with the chaos that is present. Idr starting this thread i hope i can be deleted

The idea was that people who are prone to mental illness have a "stress vulnerability". benzos and etiz both reduce stress. It's like when lady gaga had her dna tested and it showed she was prone to lupis. to stop that from happening she has to avoid stress. same deal

What meds are you using for your condition? I'm bipolar and the doctor recently prescribed four different meds. I've been binging on etizolam as well but now tapering down since the mirtazapine helps me sleep better. Years ago I was given Xanax extended relief. They were very useful. That might suit you better than the short acting etizolam. Talk with your doctor and maybe he can prescribe something like that.

well actually benzos can be contradicted with psychosis if we want to go with the model of chemical imbalance in the brain due to dopamine, as benzos actually increase dopamine. xanax in particular has been proven to increase stratal dopamine levels, and so has diazepam (albeit in a less obvious manner). all this tells me is that some "idiot" released the study that proved xanax affected dopamine, and they're trying to hide the fact that all benzos do.

however, their dopamine increase is negligible (actually, it's not) with the way they interact with GABA in the brain (GABA in itself affects pretty much every neurotransmitter out there too). frankly psychotic anxiety is actually a much heavier type of anxiety that requires treatment with something that can calm the nervous system down.

from all i've seen regarding anti-psychotics, (this is just my opinion), they are absolute garbage peddled down the throats of millions of people - and actually they either turn people into zombies or make them even more aggressive (please note this is only from what i have witnessed regarding the use of these terrible drugs). zyprexa kills for a reason. look at it's properties with regard to its receptor affinities and what it actually does to the brain. a perfectly "healthy" individual could start taking this stuff- and the withdrawals themselves would cause a schizophrenic reaction due to rebound receptor activity. fuck.

the problem with benzos is the stigma. people are being denied them due to the so called addiction potential. but if a person fucking needs them to function in a "normal" way - especially people suffering from extreme mental health conditions, why should they be denied them because they are "addictive"!? mental health issues usually last for life unfortunately and there is no way around that. it's a travesty how our health systems work, but don't get me started on this.

welll when I was in a psychosis I hallucinated a lot (when you're in psychois you don't know its a hallucination) and saw a shadow person which is the weirdest sensation ever. when i was acutely psychotic I couldn't talk, and felt really grandiose. I was stuck in a nightmare. Weed works wonders for me though. when i was psychotic weed made me feel normal and completely forget my life is falling apart from my illness. I'm pissed the shit ward when i was at with my first episode. they just wanted to dope me up with zyprexa. i hope i didnt take it long enough to fuck my brain up like zyprexa apparently does. Then recently(like last year) they put me back on fucking invega and the dr was like "oh this is a new antipsychoitc I think it will work for you." so i took it then was like why the fuck would i want to take a completely new drug with no research. then i went back to abilify even though its soooo fucking expensive. not many options when you hve man boobs, because they will make them twice as big

im going to talk to psychiatrist and tell him I'd like to be med free, as he has no hope I will ever get better. its like wtf i have a low level psychosis i think i can deal with it without meds that cost an arm and leg
