Benzos Etizolam decompose under light?

On both of the Etizolam packages (Etilaam and Etizest) have had a statement saying something along the lines of store in a dark place, away from light.

My question is, does Etizolam decompose with light? If so, how readily and under what sort of light (sunlight, tungsten, etc) and how would a tablet lose potency being under light, considering that a large amount of the active compound is covered by the outer coating of the tablet.

I've got over 100 tabs that have been sitting in an orange prescription bottle and am wondering what to do since I had them out in my room. granted, they weren't sitting in direct sunlight, but they have been there for a while now.

I have these for panic attacks/anxiety so if these are going to be bunk when I need them, I'd like to know and order some more.

Thanks.

don't worry about the sunlight. a lot drugs can lose their potency over time if you literally have it under the sun. others are fairly volatile especially with sunlight like lsd. but in your case, there's nothing to worry about. just keep them in a container with desiccant packets.

I've seen that warning on just about most, if not all prescription pamphlets. It's a broad statement not limited etizolam only, the main factors of decomposition are light, heat, moisture and I'm sure some other factors I'm forgetting so it's always gonna be ideal to "store in a cool place, away from light". As for how quickly etizolam will degrade, idk but like you pointed out the fact that they are pressed in a tab means that those pills will likely last at least a decade, if not longer as long as they're not sitting directly in the sun under extreme heat, I wouldn't even worry about it personally. Ps. Expiration dates are also BS the great majority of the time ;)
