Ethylphenidate and SSRI's

I currently take 40mg citalopram daily. I'm thinking of doing a bit of EPH the weekend but I haven't really used EPH since starting on the SSRI.

Is there any known interaction between the two or should I be safe?

Thanks in advance.

Ethylphenidate should have similar interactions to methylphenidate, so you can check that & see there could be a 'moderate' interaction... http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=679-0,1606-0

So take it easy if you're going to try it.

Citalopram will have interactions with most (if not all) stimulants, psychedelics & empathogens, drugs.com lists 500 drug interactions for citalopram. Ethylphenidate might not be as bad as drugs that have more effect on serotonin, but there is an interaction.

There are some fairly serious sounding withdrawal effects from citalopram (and other ssri drugs) too, so you can't just stop taking it, it needs to be tapered off.

I've been using eph for the past few days, and have not had sleepless nights or anything but have experienced shortness of breath, fluttering heart etc. Largest shot I have done is a point so yes I am IV'ing it. I am using my last bit even though my lungs & heart hurt & then I'm done with it. I would like to know what the possible damage could be, I am thinking about going to a doctor/ hospital after I do the rest.

Not an SSRI but it had quite serious interactions with Nortriptyline when I was taking that particular TCA.
