Ethex 30mg oxycodone vs other brands?

I just aquired the ethex brand of 30's. I have heard they are hard but aside from that how do they stand up to the other brands? Obviuosly everyones favorite the A 215's are near impossible to find now in the south. But how does ethex stack up.

Please no bs about all generics being the same, I know they are in theory, but i want personal experiences and oppinions not an argument how generics are bioequivilent. Thanks
 
I got some ethex 5mg oxycodones and they where really good actually.

The 30s you have are they white ? I think I had them before and they where just as good as any other brand.
 
I like the ethex ones they seem more potent to me, I also like the White M30s ones. The V4812 Blue ones suck so much its not potent at all. The A215s are decent if you are shooting but I dont shoot so I get the white M30s
 
^ The M | 30 's actually arent white, they're light blue. And i've heard some who say the Ethex's are stronger and some who wouldent accept them, even though they know their legit. personally i think there about average with the M 30's with A 215 as my fav.
 
Overall, brand names and generic are the same thing. Any major differences are subjective.

I'm going to go ahead and send this over to BD so you can continue the discussion if you'd like.

The Blue V 4812's are less potent. Their company is being sued by the FDA for this.
 
I cashed my perscription on Monday for my monthly supply (legit obviously).

Previously I had been getting the 30mg light (pale) blue ones with the 'M' on them.
(Mallinckrodt brand)

The pharmacy asked if I minded them giving me these 'Ethex' branded as a replacement.

Having used the pharmacy for sometime they are aware that some 'Generic' brands of Percocet etc don't appear to work as well for me.

Also the fact that these 'Ethex' are more than double the cost Retail of the 'Mallinckrodt' brand.

IMHO after two days of using them, I find them to be 'substandard' compared to the 'Mallinckrodt' brand.

The light / pale blue 'Mallinckrodt' 30mg Oxy's work quicker, feel stronger & I get a mild buzz with them.

These 'Ethex' generics seem to take tice, almost three times as long to start aleviating my pains, do not appear to be as strong, do not seem to last nearly as long in my system & certainly in no way do they give me even the slightest hint of a buzz...

Now, I am not saying that these are no good at all, they work for other people & it looks like everybody likes them...
I understand that no two people are the same & I'd like to point out that any bizz that I get is welcomed but not an essential reason for my having these medications (I am in a great deal of pain for a few valid reasons & virtually around the clock 24/7 365).

As I mentioned above, I have had the same problem with other 'generic brands' of other prescribed medications in the past.

I would expect even with a bit of a tollerance that 2 or 3 30mg 'Ethex' oxycodone should be helping me with my pain, but they just feel s if I have taken about a 1/2 of a single 30mg 'Mallinckrodt'...

Anybody else in the forums (reading this) that has the same problem with this generic (or any other problems with other generics of another medication)?

I am seriously thinking of calling the pharmacy & aving them change the remaining supply back to the 'Mallinckrodt' which they should now have in stock.

If they don't comply, I might have to call my prescriber & have him insist on them changing them, as I can't spend the whole month taking meds that don't appear to be working.

Is there such thing as a 'bad batch' nowadays?
Could this be the problem perhaps?

I googled this because I have EXACTLY the same problem. I have no insurance and am cash pay monthly for my pain doctor and my pharmacist. This is the first time in 3 years that my pharmacist came out to the waiting area (this is a mom & pop pharmacy that doesn't accept ANY insurance in order to keep their prices the lowest.) and asked if I cared which brand I got for the roxi's. I was like, uh, no...doesn't matter to me as long as they work. He snickered and nodded like he knew what I meant.

So, not even remembering that they had switched brands, I cut all my pills and put them in my weekly container (I take 15mg, 6X a day, and I get the 40 mg tabs.) At about day 2, I was actually having feelings of withdrawal type sickness and NO relief.

It has been a week and I am in so much pain, I can hardly stand it! Like you, I was switched from the "M" ones, but not to Ethex, to V4812. I can't sleep at night as it is, but now am worse because I hurt, no matter which way I lie. I wake up and take my first dose, and after an hour I have to ask myself, "did I take my meds?" because I feel NOTHING. And I have to take another...in an hour...still nothing!

I asked my husband if he thought they asked if I minded what brand in order to give me "sugar pill" or placebo. Maybe the placebos are different and I would have noticed if they just suddenly changed them on me...he didn't think so, but now I'm REALLy starting wonder.

Would REALLY like more info on this...maybe even a doctor's.

Is any body talking about generic oxycodone anymore? I just got mine filled and got the Blue 30mg V4812 and they are nothing like the Teva 40mg er. I have take several and still do not get any pain relieve nothing... Don't know what to do. I guess I'll have to just wait it out till next month and try something else. But no more of the V4812 they seem to be just waist of time and MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANY THOUGHTS PLEASE
 
I'll Keep Looking back looking for responses! It looks likes the time difference is large, the time is 15:00 here no one seems to be online so I'll keeping looking for some knowledge from someone. I have been on the patch of fentanyl 75micro grams. They work fair?!?!?!? Thanks

When I say a few I mean 8, 30mg. V4812 and still don't get as much relieve as the old Teva's. that's how much the teva's 40mg er were to me. i can't find any thing like them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the V4812 are the worst, they actually are or have been sued for shorting the dosage in the 30mg roxis.

my fav are the a215s and the m30s...the new ones with 224 on them are a little bigger and they are just as bad at the V4812
