Ephedrine Results

Hiya.
I have some Mitsubishi-stamped pills that look identical to, and are exactly the same size as the tested Mitsubishi pill (caffeine and ephedrine only) at the bottom of the page on http://www.pilltest.com
I live in england and got my pills around the same time as the one on pilltest.com was tested.
I have tested my pills with my X-treme kit and the results are Marquis - dark purple, 1+2 - blue, 2+3 - no colour change.
I haven't had any of my pills but my friend took two and "rolled" quite hard. His pupils were hugely dilated but he didn't have much energy. I have tasted the pills and found them to be unbelievably bitter.
So my questions (in trying to work out if I have the shit pills or not) are
1) what X-Treme reactions would I expect to see with ephedrine?
2) does ephedrine cause pupil dilation?
3) does ephedrine taste incredibly bitter?

hmm.
ephedrine, particularly in combination with caffeine, can cause a very fast heartbeat, sweating, anxiety, anorexia (as in unwillingness to eat), hyperactivity, and insomnia (inability to sleep). somewhat like the amphetamines, but without any wholly CNS effects like euphoria.
though ephedrine is a sympathomimetic and may be expected to have some effect on the pupils, in my experience it does not. i'm not sure what effect it might have in other people, but it doesn't dilate my pupils (at all).
ephedrine is bitter; caffeine is also bitter. neither are astonishingly bitter. i just chewed a tab of ephedrine explicitly for the purposes of science, *just for you*, and it really wasn't bitter at all. caffeine is quite bitter -- but again, not so bitter you'd say "incredibly bitter". in fact, no more bitter than acetaminophen.
judging by your test results, i'd say you got a different pill. your friend cannot have mistaken ephedrine+caffeine for "rolling" if he has any idea what MDMA feels like; they have very different effects.

Again, I'd like to stress that you have to watch carefully for a reaction. This is still a difficult reaction (though we recently managed to make Robadope slightly more sensitive) and if you miss the reaction, you miss the fact that it may contain a primary amine. Also make sure that you add in this order; 3 and then 2. Not 2 and then 3 (which is why you have to stick to the instructions on our webpage, the manual etc is also still being evaluated... Up to date info -> always check our site)
The reactions seem quite clear. Purple indicates an Ecstasy like substance, blue indicates it is a secondary amine, most likely MDMA but it could still be MDEA (not very common these days but that may be different for the UK).
No reaction with Robadope INDICATES there is no primary amine present. So no PMA or MDA.
Ephedrine will never go purple with Marquis.
