how can u stimulate them besides opiates and exercise (which i never got anything from anyway) ?

it will be interesting if some natural substances exist out there to at least help a bit. :\

you're not excersizing strenuously enough if you dont feel an endorphin high afterwards. Try pushing yourself to the point where you cant physically go on any more.

Eating a chili pepper (say 1 raw Jalapeno or hotter) really seems to stimulate endorphin release. I did it last time I was in mild withdrawal and it helped about as much as running/lifting or taking a few loperamides. Could be placebo, but I really wasn't expecting it to do anything and it made my watery eyes/runny nose basically go away.

i dunno about this. it seemed opiates completely wiped out any chance of getting endorphins pleasure so what u guys recommend seems obsolete

I'm more into exporphins, but physical pain (however induced) seems to be key for almost all methods. I recall Bilz0r throwing down on the efficacy of aerobic exercise in raising endorphins (the study's dependent variable operationalized as measurement of change in blood-serum beta-endorphin level).

People seem to fixate on mapping "endorphins" onto some character of subjective experience w/o confirming that endorphins play the decisive role in the subjective character of activities that happen to raise endorphins. Very often, this appears driven by intuition via similarity of how exorphins (Yehy, morphine! ;)) feel the character of various sober experiences. For example, exercise or orgasms induce a wide swath of neurochemical changes beyond effects on endorphins, regardless of resulting states' resemblances to how opioids feel.

In short, if you're feeling quite shite, you can't just point to endorphins out of hand.

OTOH, this problem's even worse with "serotonin levels".

are u suggesting i suicide ? trying to convince someone to suicide in illegal in stome states. i sure hope ur not in one.

no, he is basically suggesting pain. Extreme pain causes endorphin release. Cutting yourself causes pain which causes endorphin release. This is probably why cutters say that they feel better when they cut themselves.

lol yeh i thot its weird when u feel pain and then u feel weird relaxation. but i question weather people who abused opiates will ever experience it same way ?

Corresponding receptors downregulate in exorphins' presence, but I don't know how such a system works for endogenous ligands.

I mean, does frequent, successful goal seeking and attainment induce 'tolerance', perhaps via DA receptor downregulation? Somehow, I think things are more complex. . .

With naltrexone there is no downregulation problem, its been used for the purpose of boosting endorphin's with a low dose every night.

On the issue of sexual climax: has it ever been proven that an orgasm stimulates endorphin release? I know that it's long been compared to IV opiate administration, but I've never seen any actual research on the subject.

The general evidence is it does not, at least directly. The administration of naloxone does not effect sexual activity in man and studies of males and females show no beta-endorphin elevations, but they do show increases of prolactin afterwards (which is a common effect of opioid administration or dopamine receptor antagonism).
