One of my only good friends is planning on offing himself tonight, his chosen ROA is cutting his wrists with an opium poppy lance (much too dull but I said it was sharp enough) and I don't know what to do. Everything I say is useless, even with all the empathy (meth) in my blood. He says he's holding on to to much shame for a rape incident in high school among other things. He is not someone who does shit for attention.. I'm the only one he told... it's for real as it could be. What can I do, legaly or emotionaly or physically. I'm in central valley California.. Sanger... it's 7 42 pm here and he's not getting up with the sunrise. What can I do legally? EmotionLy? Physically

Call an ambulance to his house. I'm assuming you know him IRL and know his name/address. Sometimes there isn't anything you can say or do to stop him. Forced help (calling an ambulance) is the only choice.

Don't wait, get your friend some help. Suicide threats should always be taken seriously.
This is what mental health holds are for. I hope he finds some resolution to this!

you could call paramedics but ask yourself this "is this really my decision to make"

Does he got family or some other type of keeper?

I mean you can call someone and have him institutionalized. Dude might be mad but he will be alive.

Is he serious? People actually do off themselves. I had a friend OD on purpose and die. He would do kinda suicidal stuff which just got ignored.

Sounds like he wants some help. Well try to be a good friend.
