wish I knew
I have been doing lots of research on Suboxone. I have been on it for the past 4 months and my doctor feels that it is time to taper me. My family physician however feels that since it is helping with not only my addiction but it has been doing wonders for my depression and even my chronic pain issues that led me to the opiates to begin with. I have been searching high and low for a doctor that will do a maintenance program rather than a detox. I have been abusing heroin and pain pills since I was 11 years ild and I am 34 now. I have been to inpatient rehab 6 different times, been to jail many times, and the subs have been the only thing that has helped me get my life back. I was on this same sub doctor's program one other time and after I was tapered down I did go back to using again. I do not want to relapse again but I can already feel that it is coming. If anyone knows of a sub doctor that will do maintenance in the <snip> area or even the surrounding states please send me a pm. I am just getting my life, career, and family back and I do not want to lose them again. I don't think that I will be able to mentally handle it, and fear that the next attempt at taking my life will not be interrupted. Thanks to all of you for your informative and no holds barred discussions, I feel like I belong here. I relate to many of you and your situations.

I would also like to tell you about the Three Day Rule. It allows any physician to administer three days of subs until they can get you a treatment plan figured out. Most doctors do not know about it, but I have a link that is printable so they can see for themselves. Good luck to everyone here, when you are ready to quit you will, don't let anyone pressure you because if you do it for the wrong reasons, it will not be a success.

Sorry man, we can't direct you to a specific doctor or clinic here. Check out google and also your state might have an index or resource list of physicians who can prescribe it.

Please PM me if you have any questions about this.
