Elon Musk officially buys Twitter, DONE DEAL !

Like seriously, the man is rich as fuck, has evaded tons of taxes, received billions in subsidies for his companies, has multiple defense contracts.

And now since he rambled about free speech, the woke mind virus and him voting Republican he's suddenly anti establishment?

Like what does anyone think he's gonna do that's so anti establishment? Buy Twitter? Well I've got news for you =D

And since when is being a Republican anti establishment anyway?

The establishment uses Twitter to curate the narrativ. They have done everything they can to prevent it being purchased for a reason. They even attempted to mitigate disaster by creating that ministry of truth, but they knew it wouldn’t be nearly as effective as controlling/censoring twitter. And now the establishment is full on attacking elon for daring to go against them.
 
Think about it, all of the other election shenanigans aside, the establishment used Twitter to change the results of the election in a quantifiable way. They censored the hunter Biden lap top story as Russian disinfo a week before the elections. All of the polling shows most independents would have not voted Biden had they known this information. When Twitter censors something the other companies fall in line or are insignificant in reaching an audience. With Elon buying it they won’t be able to do this type of stuff anymore, and the playing field will be level. I expect the DOJ and all other establishment apparatuses to go after Elon with everything they have. Dudes a hero to those of us who hate globohomo and the US establishment.
 
But he won't be buying it, in fact he's even trying to avoid buying it, and Twitter (part of the establishment) wants him to buy it .

You think he needs"hardcore" litigators to enforce the purchase? Not really man.

I agree that social media like Twitter and some control over it is very important to the US and the "establishment", but Elon isnt the savior.

He only doesn’t want to buy it at its super over valued price. The establishment absolutely controls it currently, and he has promised to make it more open. it’s a win for anyone that doesn’t agree with the establishment, in general. At the very least they exposed it as being a CIA tool imo. They are currently trying to unrig the algorithm, most of the wrong think major accounts have increased engagement. Some of these people have hundreds of thousands more followers. The dark horse folx were talking about this the other day. Non subverted liberals, leftists, and other wrong thinkers also profit from a free and open platform. The bots are one of the biggest ways establishment figures Astro turf their presence. If he manages to purchase we will see a whole new site. still won’t use that cancer though lol

He doesn't want to buy it because it will tank Tesla even further and he doesnt really have the money anyway.
He signed a contract for 54$ and suddenly he realized there a bots (big lol).
Coincidentally Twitter bots are also one of the main ways Tesla astroturfs.

Twitter will sue him because they want him to buy it. So what we can conclude is that Musk made a gigantic mistake doing all this.

Also a rookie mistake by him to start being so political in America, this is the equivalent of releasing the hounds of hell.

I don’t really care about Elon and his business dealings. I am already happy that he exposed how the establishment uses Twitter to push narratives and censors. The ministry of truth thing was entertaining too. So for those of us that aren’t particularly huge Elon fans and that hate the establishmen/banks this is all good stuff.

Much worse things have been said about public figures here, Trump was president for a whole 4 years =D . If SpaceX paid 250k then he kind of is a sex offender is he not? It's also only the first time we know off. The "fucking cunt" may be egregious but that's been said hundreds of other times in CE&P(S).

Just looking out for my fellow Elon hater xxx

Of course they have, but unless one enjoys wallowing in shitwaste, one must evolve and progress.

I'm not a fan of Elon. Trump. Biden. Bezos. Fuck them all. They are cunts.

But there's a difference between calling someone a cunt and summarily deciding they should be executed and proclaiming it loudly on the internet. Bluelight is a harm reduction forum, not really a harm promotion forum, so calling for public executions isn't really something I think we should be cool with.

I'm not really trying to censor or infract anyone, I'm just saying, we can do better and have productive conversations without threatening people with the gallows.

It's a bit tiresome hearing people bemoan one of these public figureheads but excluding others based on their particular political leaning. No one gets to where those guys are with billions of dollars without having been compromised, it's just not possible. If you're against the prevailing establishment and have any degree of public influence, BAM!!, right in the fucking head.

The ones who are actually deserving of execution i.e. the ones who control the military industrial complex and financial system itself, they never get a mention.

Have not read the entire thread but - Elon Musk doesn't actually give a fuck about free speech, and the idea that he does is laughable.

I'm sure he might think that he does, but this is a man who is notorious for attempting to silence speech that he doesn't like. When public sentiment turned against Tesla in China, he (allegedly, but believably) asked the Chinese government to intervene to censor criticism of Tesla. It's equally likely true that the Chinese government themselves were either directly behind or indirectly encouraged this criticism - but the fact remains that Elon didn't appear to have a problem trying to utilise the notorious censorship powers of a notoriously anti-free-speech authoritarian regime when it suited him.

He silenced a blogger critical of Tesla by threatening to sue his employer and essentially doxing him. There are numerous reports of litigious intimidation of ex-employees, either pre-emptively with coerced signings of agreements not to speak negatively of their experience at the company under threat of legal action, or actual retaliatory lawsuits for those who have done so. There are countless more examples of petty, childish and egomaniacal behaviour like this. Expect more censorship of any speech that he doesn't like, and bannings of accounts critical of him, his companies, or simply expressing views he doesn't agree with. Elon Musk is no more a "free speech absolutist" than the Democratic People's Republic of (North) Korea is "democratic".
 
Was just thinking about the parallel of Musk and the fictional billionaire wonderkid character Tony Stark, then I remembered that they actually met each other in the second Iron Man film.

I wonder how many young minds that little seed took root in, and also the genesis of that cameo appearance.
