That wouldn't be too far fetched. Twitter, despite its flaws, was a quick and accessible communications platform for ordinary people worldwide to share information. All the other social media platforms are lethargic by comparison, and more easily moderated for 'misinformation' but in particular the spread of information at speed.

The establishment, globally, over the past two or so years has made it clear just how much they revile people sharing the wrong type of information. They don't like that. They just want you participating in banal TikTok culture, where 5 second memory and the intelligence of a nursery child is the goal. They don't want people disrupting narratives they are trying to curate in the collective consciousness.

Musk is a fraud. A total fraud. And in all probability a complete dumbass going on his public interviews, such as on Rogan. And yet he is in league with the DoD with satellites, and now this little stunt? All this crap about taking on the leftists is just smoke and mirrors. Clearly it is, given that's all the media is choosing to focus on as well. No one talking about any of the potential ramifications, just focusing in on the 'drama'.

So, he fires half, including a lot of very well respected people, he's an embarrassment on Twitter, he has totally tanked ad revenue, he said that Twitter was near bankruptcy and he has fired everyone that somehow criticized him both in public and on private channels. Plus he has almost entirely cut working from home and other benefits.

And now he gives the rest of them 24 hours to commit to being hardcore and working long hours or be gone (well he sent it at like midnight). Lmao you can't make this stuff up...

I wouldn't be surprised with 80% but no way Elon can follow through. How did he not see this coming? Mindblowing stuff really. Total clown show

It seems cavalier and short-sighted... until you remember that he's taking over a company where a considerable chunk of the respected employees were already openly hostile towards him and his stated goals for the company.

It could be said that he's a fool for triggering the mass exodus of employees. But from another point of view, it could be said he made the best of the situation he was handed by expediently (and legally) eliminating all potential saboteurs.

It's worth mentioning that Twitter is not the only tech company that has been purging activist employees -

Tech layoffs are disproportionately hitting HR and corporate diversity teams

"Thanks for getting us through the pandemic. Now pack your bags."

Elon has been doing things at a whim, in like a week so many advertisers left already. It can be all wokey wokey but maybe it's about the money. I'm pretty sure Elon will eventually land on pretty much all the same things that Twitter landed on themselves (minus that direct line to the White House re covid and that hunter Biden dude hah).

Would you stay? Work long hours for Elon who is clearly very far from a genius, while you can get a job pretty much anywhere?
